Designated Body (DeBo)
Belgorail is a Designated Body for verification of compliance with the National Notified Technical Rules in the absence of Technical Specifications for Interoperability or derogations, and is thereby authorised to assess conformity of conventional and high-speed railway vehicles in accordance with the applicable National Technical Rules.
The Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management recognised Belgorail on 16 August 2018 (reference: ILT-2018/51592); which was published in the Dutch Staatscourant Nr. 8039 on 15 February 2019. Due to the arrival of the new Railways Act on 16 June 2019, this recognition was amended. Belgorail has been designated on behalf of the State Secretary for Infrastructure and Water Management to carry out conformity assessments in accordance with the Dutch regulation on the commissioning of rail vehicles (RIS) related to the 4th Railway Package. This designation is valid till 1 July 2020.
